Smart Tech — Startup Dashboard

International startup analytics and visualization platform built for investors, accelerators and venture-capital firms.

Product DesignData

Smart Tech focused on turning huge volumes of information about the startup ecosystem into a clear, visual and genuinely useful tool for decision making. The brief came from a very real problem: the amount of data available on startups, investment, growth and technology trends is usually scattered, fragmented or framed in a way that's too technical for a quick strategic read. To solve it, we built a dashboard designed to synthesise that complexity into a global, dynamic and actionable view — aimed at investors, venture-capital firms, accelerators and professionals who need to understand what's happening across different markets and sectors at a glance.

Dashboard 3

The system tracked key metrics — investment volume, revenue, growth, headcount, tech verticals, funding rounds and geographic distribution — surfaced through interactive maps, country rankings, ecosystem comparisons and advanced filters. The goal wasn't only to show data but to build a tool with a clear analytical logic, where every visualisation helped spot patterns, surface opportunities and compare markets with a quick yet deep read. That way, the dashboard let users move from a surface-level look at the startup landscape to a much more strategic understanding of how sectors were evolving, which regions concentrated the most activity, and which kinds of companies were gaining traction in each context.

Dashboard 2

One of the most interesting things about the project was its ability to connect macro analysis and micro reading inside the same experience. On one hand, it offered a panoramic view of the international startup ecosystem, letting users compare countries, regions or tech verticals across a broad, structured dataset. On the other, it allowed deep dives into specific companies through financial and operational indicators that made it easier to understand their evolution, positioning and potential. This made the platform especially valuable for profiles evaluating investment opportunities or tracking market trends, who could move easily between a strategic layer and a much more specific one without leaving the same environment.

Dashboard 4

The dashboard was designed to analyse high-growth sectors like AI, blockchain, SaaS, sustainability and IoT, making it easier to compare their behaviour and evolution over time. Beyond the visual layer, the real value of the project — for us — was its ability to turn dense, often hard-to-read data into strategic, understandable and action-oriented information. The point wasn't just to visualise the state of the startup ecosystem, but to build a tool that helped formulate better questions: where new opportunities are emerging, which markets are accelerating, which verticals concentrate the most investment, and which company models show the highest growth potential.

The project was built in collaboration with Zeus Smart Data, which added a particularly valuable dimension by connecting product design with a real context of data analysis and business needs. Overall, Smart Tech was for us an exercise in designing to make complexity readable — proof that a good product experience can turn large volumes of data into a strategic tool for understanding the present and future of the startup ecosystem.
